Panama's most famous social democrat to return home for jail
January 27, 2007Noriega is to be extradited back to Panama according to La Prensa on the 9th of September this year when he is released on parole in Miami.
He can then look forward to 20 years prison (The maximum sentence under Panamanian law) of the 55 year sentences he has on his head in the infamous La Joya prison in Panama.
Noriega who was the last dictator in Panama and a devout member of PRD the Panamanian Social Democratic Part (who currently hold the presidency through elections) is still hated in Panama. Most people would rather have that they could just forget about him. He is attempting to apply for asylum in various places, but it looks like Panama will finally be able to put him to justice.
Noriega is now supposedly a devout christian.
