Leni Riefenstahl live and well in Denmarks Tax ministry
January 18, 2006This has really been annoying me for months now, but I thought it was fair time that I wrote about it.
Before reading any further go and see the FairPlay Commercial that is continuing to air on Danish TV (and I as a tax payer paid for).
It is titled “Imagine if everyone worked black!”. In Denmark to work black means moon shining (eg. working without paying taxes).
The also have a collection of posters that I guess they want Danish teenagers to put on their walls next to their Che, Green Day and Harry Potter posters.
I wrote about the last campaign before and this just upsets me even more than anything else.
Luckily a young Danish libertarian is taking action now with his Freeplay campaign. He argues that if it wasn’t for “black work” many people would never be able to employ people for personal services such as cleaners or builders in their homes. He has a point. Denmark is one of the countries where people use more hours of their week on various pointless tasks around the house than anywhere else.
The taxes on work are way to high. It’s ridiculous. The tax wedge is one of the highest in the world, which means that Danes that on paper are wealthy really have a lower quality of life than people with much lower average incomes around the world.
Comments:
I'd like to see: "If everyone would work on the black market, everyone would be wealthier and petty bureaucrats such as myself wouldn't have the money for stupid ads such as this one."
... so work on the black market! Starve the State to prevent its spending spree. ;-)

I am all for that. For example I purposely attempt to buy blackmarket soda and beer.
In denmark something like 60% or more of the inhabitants make their living off the remaining few's tax payments. This means that the democratic process has essentially been bought out. The black market is about the only weapon we have left.
The funny thing as well is that the Tax minister is from the Liberal party.
