Useful Idiots
February 27, 2003I try not to get upset by things and in particularly not by the “Not in my Name” movement (who I will not satisfy with a link). However I must admit that I am furious at the Anti War movement. I’m furious at the typical self appointed holier than thou celebrity crowd who refuse to understand that sometimes you have to make a stand.
These same people who went to the Anti War demonstrations following the exact same though patterns would no doubt have gone to the other great Anti War Rally in British history . People forget this, but a fair amount of Leftist Intellectuals were supportive of Hitler in the thirties. For example many of the Social Democratic leaders in the Caribbean and Latin America were in awe of his rule. Peron in Argentina for one and Norman Manley in Jamaica another have all publically expressed support.
The fact of the matter is that a certain kind of people are so blinded by an idealistic world view, such as “World Peace”, “Equality” or the like, that they become willing sheep for the dictators. Lenin called these people “Useful Idiots”. They would eat up any propaganda they were sent from Russia. These same people are now licking every last bid of propaganda up from Saddam Hussein, Yassir Arrafat, Fidel Castro and every other tin pot dictator around the world.
Concerning the Anti War march in London, there was a group of (hold your breath) Iraqi’s there. According to their own words they were treated absolutely terribly by the various organisers and celibrities at the rally.
We next spotted former film star Glenda Jackson, apparently manning a stand where “antiwar” characters could sign up to become “human shields” to protect Saddam’s military installations against American air attacks.
“These people are mad,” said Awad Nasser, one of Iraq’s most famous modernist poets. “They are actually signing up to sacrifice their lives to protect a tyrant’s death machine.” [Amir Taheri]
Need I say more? Read the article above to see real Iraqi people’s opinion on the war. Ask the Cuban who is sharing a one bed room apartment in a building thats about to fall apart with 40 other people about life in the Workers Paradise. Ask the Infantile Eastern European citizens who have a very real recent memory of dictatorship about their life in paradise.
